Doug has been part of the Boston entertainment industry for more than 15 years. As owner of one of Boston’s premiere entertainment companies, Doug has incorporated dance into most of the hundreds of events he manages annually. At these events, Doug noticed an overwhelming enthusiasm for hip hop from people of all ages, and he set out to create a studio dedicated to the urban dance style. His vision is to provide all students a superior dance experience from amazing instructors who motivate, inspire and have fun to the latest in sound technology. House of Dance is the only dance studio dedicated to hip hop in the area. Doug is also President and Owner of Northern Lights Entertainment and Evolution Media
Hilary Sayers
Director
Hilary “Hibbz” Sayers has been a dancer in the greater Boston community for over 20 years. Starting out with classical dance styles of Ballet, Modern, Jazz, and Tap, growing into the styles of Foundational and Commercial Hip-Hop, as well as studying other street styles Poppin’, Breakin’, Waacking, and House. Hilary spent most of her time learning from her Mentors of Boston’s oldest hip-hop crew “The Floor Lords”. After branching out of local dance events, she spent many years studying the hip-hop culture all over the country. Performing, Competing, Battling, Cyphering in/at community and stage competitions all over the US, she hopes to continue to help grow the dance community in the right direction through the true essence and elements of Hip-Hop. Hilary has performed before artists such as Method Man, Red Man, DMX, and Jadakiss. She was was the 2016/2017 All Styles finalist and semi-finalist in Boston University’s local competition “OvrDrv”, an all styles finalist in Houston Texas’s event “Bgirl City”, and a winner in Washington DC at the “Bustin Loose” Jam 7-to-smoke All Styles Battle in 2018. Most recently, she was an invited Competitior for the World Wide competition “Dance Your Style” presented by Redbull. Currently Hilary is a full time dance studio director and spends most of a time teaching…but believes she is “always a student” and continues everyday to better herself as an educator. She hopes to show every young aspiring dancer why dancing is the best gift of life!
Hope Cooper
Studio Manager
Hope Cooper is a dancer born and raised in Hampton, New Hampshire. Since the age of 3, she has been training in various classical styles such as Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Pointe. At age 16, she started traveling around the East Coast to expand her training further in Street Styles and Hip Hop Fundamentals. By 18, Hope found a passion for creating and transitioned into discovering her own artistry. She began teaching at local dance studios. Choreographing for performances in her area. She performed on many stages throughout the years including the Sugar Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans, World of Dance Finals in Los Angeles and more. Currently, she performs, trains, and competes as a member of professional dance crew, Liv3lihood, based out of Rhode Island. As well as, working for Turn It Up Dance Challenge on the social media team, and owning her own online jewelry business. Hope wishes to share her knowledge and energy to spark a passion in the next generation of dance artists.

Shondell “BISHOP” Butler

Bishop is a Dancer, Choreographer, and Instructor born and raised in Boston, MA. He has been teaching at local dance studios for the past few years and will be teaching his second year for Bentley University. His resume includes choreographing for X’s and O’s artist group, Ghost Busters, Demi Lovato, Dunkin’ Donuts, Elae Weekes’ “Move On” music video, and was contracted with SimonWill Entertainment in summer 2019. Currently, he dances with Boston’s choreography group “CREWNEX”.
Danny “Bboy Lissome” Guzmán

Danny began dancing to Puerto Rican music at the age of 3, however, Breaking a.k.a. “Breakdancing” at 10yrs old. His older brother introduced him to the art-form and he fell in love, with its abstract forms of self-expression, ever since! His journey as a Mentor/Instructor began in the Fall of 2009. Since then he’s received a Community Builders Award from the United Way of Central Massachusetts, performed for NASA, several local Parades, Multi-Cultural Festivals, and State Representatives in New England. He even made a cameo in the music video “Just Let Go” by Joyner Lucas & Chris Brown. He’s traveled all across North America competing against and learning from some of the best Breakers in the world. What was once a hobby turned into an outlet that became a successful career working with the youth.
Carol Sereda
Teacher
Carol Sereda fell in love with ballet under the direction of her home teacher Pat MuCusker in Clark, N.J. It was there that she trained and performed as a soloist in the New Jersey Dance Theater Guild with Julliard’s ballet master, Alfredo Corvino.
Ms. Sereda then dove into Horton and Graham technique as scholarship student at The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. This launched her career as a professional contemporary dancer and choreographer and realizing that her early years of ballet training gave her the ability to expertly execute new and extreme ranges of vocabulary.
After dancing in New York, Philadelphia, Portugal and England she permanently relocated to Boston to attend the Harvard/Radcliff Summer Dance program. In Boston she produced works at Mobius, CMAC, The Dance Complex, and performed with the BU Dance Collective, Peter Dimuro, and Paula Josa-Jones. Ms. Sereda taught for the Walnut Hill School of Performing Arts and Boston Ballet Schools where she developed her comprehensive children’s syllabus for ages 3 to 8 uniquely incorporating American Sign Language.
Carol is thrilled to return to her ballet roots actively continuing her teacher training at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, American Ballet Theatre and most recently using the Royal Academy of Dance pedagogy. As a teacher, Ms. Sereda pulls from each syllabus to help her dancers understand how to turn raw material into a solid technical form. She is honored to be joining The House of Dance faculty to guide their students to express themselves personally, convey ranges of emotion on stage and/or to consider pursuing their dreams of dance professionally.
Elizabeth Avakian

Elizabeth Avakian was born and raised in the Boston, MA area where she began dancing at the age of five years old. She trained and danced competitively at a local dance studio in Norwood, MA. Since then she has graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a concentration in jazz under the direction of Garfield Lemonius. Elizabeth has had the privilege of working with Mark Burrell, Kiesha Lalama, Yoshiaki Nakano, Michelle Van Doeren, Chantel Aguirre, and Michael Keefe. During and after her time at Point Park she furthered her training at summer intensives including River North Summer Dance Chicago and Houston METdance Professional Intensive. She also danced with The Massachuestts Pirates Cheerleaders in Worcester, MA. Currently, Elizabeth is a part of Urabnity’s Underground company based in the Boston area. She is very excited to share her knowledge and love for dance at House of Dance!
Kimberly Soel

Originally from Ashby, MA, Kimberly began her dance training at the age of 2 and began competing at the age of 6. She trained in a myriad of styles of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, modern, musical theater, and Acro and furthered her training while a student of The Gold School in Brockton, MA under the direction of Rennie Gold. In 2002, Kim was a member of the USA Dance Team representing the United States at the World Showdance Championships in Riesa, Germany. After graduating, Kim moved on to perform professionally with Rainbow Tribe: the Company in Boston, MA. Her professional performance credits include: AF2 Lady Wolfpack (2009), CONcept ARTists, Static Noyze Dance Company, and Jennie & Co. (now Company 3.9). In addition, Kim owned and directed the Harvard Academy of Dance from 2009 to 2019. Currently, she is a faculty member at Theatre at the Mount in Gardner, MA teaching extracurricular classes, youth programs, and choreographing musicals as well as the choreographer for Lawrence Academy, Westford Academy, and The Middlesex School’s musicals. Kim continues to perform on the Theatre at the Mount stage in many of their musicals as well as with Company 3.9, a modern and jazz-based dance company. In addition, she is an adjudicator and master teacher for Imagine National Dance Challenge as well as Impact Dance Adjudicators. She is a certified Acrobatic Arts instructor, is a nationally sought after teacher and choreographer, and has received many national awards/recognition for her work. She is known for her unique concepts, high standards of training, and dedication to her dancers. Kim’s life mission is to share her knowledge and passion with the next generation of dancers while raising her two sweet boys with her incredibly supportive husband.
Adam Wertheimer
Teacher
Adam was born and raised in Boston and has been dancing his whole life after watching his grandfather tap dance when he was six years old. Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop and Krump are among the dance forms Adam has studied. Adam has trained with a number of dance companies in the Greater Boston region, including Mass Motion Dance, Street Hype, VLA Dance, and many more! Additionally. Adam has a bachelors in Exercise Science and Disability Studies minor, in addition to becoming a level 1 Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC). Using his experience in both dance and fitness, Adam hopes to become a professional strength coach not only for athletes but specifically for dancers!
Carolyn McCarthy
Carolyn received her early years of classical training from several studios in the Merrimack Valley, Massachusetts and attended national competitions as a teen. She represented the University of Vermont (UVM) by presenting choreography at the American College Dance Association (ACDA) New England Conference and Vermont College Dance Festival, and was awarded the Senior Outstanding Performance and Choreography Award upon graduating with a B.A. in 2015. She earned a Master of Philosophy in System Dynamics at the University of Bergen, Norway in 2018 and has published research on simulation-based education in scholarly journals. Carolyn celebrates 15+ years of teaching dance to a variety of students, from classically trained dancers, to public school students from low-income communities, to People with Parkinson’s Disease. She founded Emergence (@emergence.mvmt) in 2022 to expand access to dance education to students in the Lowell Public School system, while applying her 3+years of curriculum development experience to building an online choreography course for K12 teachers. Carolyn is thrilled to join House of Dance and share her love and passoon for the arts!
Lilly Ramundo

Lilly Ramundo is a dancer, choreographer and coach from North Attleboro, MA. She began dancing at the age of 2, competing in various styles before dancing for her high school’s dance team. She re-discovered her passion for dance after attending Bentley University where she served as captain and president of their hip-hop dance team, CRAZE. Since then she had traveled around the country taking and teaching classes before returning back to coach CRAZE and work with various teams in the greater Boston area.

Brooke Rivero-Lordan
Brooke has been passionate about dance since her first dance lesson at the age of 3. She was trained at Dance Arts Centre in Connecticut as a competitive dancer, where she studied ballet, jazz, tap, acrobatics, and lyrical. Brooke competed at various regional and national dance competitions such as American Dance Awards, Dance Master’s of America, Starpower, and Dance Explosion, where she danced in numerous numbers awarded top talent and choreography rankings. At age 16, Brooke became Teen Miss Connecticut, representing the Miss America Scholarship Organization, winning 1st place in talent and interview. Brooke continued to perform and compete with the Miss America Scholarship Organization winning 6 local titles from 2002 to 2008, where she again placed in talent and interview. As one of the founders of HOD, Brooke has spent the last 10 years as an integral part of the dance program. Brooke also founded and developed the competitive program at House of Dance, and has been recognized as a top choreographer at Regional and National competitions. She continues to remain part of the HOD family recreationally and competitively and enjoys seeing her students excel year to year.
Kayla Luoma
Kayla Luoma has been dancing and performing since the age of 2 and competed since the age of 6. She trained under the direction of her grandfather, Jim Caisse, and mother, Melissa Caisse. She formerly co-directed their family owned dance studio alongside her mother that ran successfully for 56 years. She has studied with Juan Sanzhez, Joe Melchiona, Paul Franklin, Sarah Jo Fazio, Raymond Lukens of ABT, Rhapsody, Geo, Mia Michaels, Brian Friedman, Dave Scott, Nappy Tabs, and has assisted for dancer/ choreographer Cris Judd. Kayla has attended and premiered on the FOX Network television show “SYTYCD” Seasons 8 and 10 auditions making it to the top 50 girls both times. Kayla also trained at the Ballet Seminar at UNLV for four years. She has done guest performances and choreography for MIMO Theater group in Florida as well as many dance conventions and performances abroad such as representing the U.S. in Bermuda at the Goombay Festival, Norwegian Cruiseline, Mexico, Las Vegas, and N.Y.C. She is a graduate of Dean College with an AA in dance. She has assisted and worked with the Boston University dance team and is a member of the Boston Community Dance Project contemporary company based in Boston M.A. in which she opened for singer/ songwriter Erene, performed in NYC Carnival Choreographers Ball, Brickhouse’s “Openhouse” showcase in Times Square NYC, and “Built on Stilts” Agriculture Fair. She is currently an adjudicator and choreographer for High Demand and Dancin’ in the Streets dance competitions. Kayla has an undying passion and desire for dance, which she endlessly enjoys passing on in her classes.
Ethan Zundell
Ethan Zundell has been training in street styles for 11 years of his life. He originally began with breaking but quickly took on learning choreography and other fundamental styles including hip hop, popping and waving. He is based out of New Hampshire but travels all around New England to train, perform, and teach.
Ethan was nominated for the Monsters of Hip Hop show for the 2022/2023 tour. He is now currently training and performing with the professional dance crew Liv3lihood from Thr3e Live Dance Complex in addition to performing and choreographing for the Anbu Breakers, a breaking team based out of Boston. Lastly, Ethan has been diving deeper into street dance culture by competing in numerous all styles battles in RI, MA, and NYC this year.
Averi Shipman
Averi Shipman of Colorado, started dance at the ripe age of four years old. She trained competitively for 15 years, and began teaching and assisting at the age of 12. Dancing and teaching competitively, grew her love for the process of what it takes to create a masterpiece. During her senior year of high school, Averi became the captain, club leader, and head choreographer of her high school dance team. As well as, the assistant studio director at Anita McCoy Dance Studio. She completed the Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop in 2023. Furthermore, she spent time in a dance major program at Pikes Peak State College, before moving to Massachusetts to train at the CLI Conservatory under Teddy Forance. Where she trained and studied in all styles of dance, with some of the industries top choreographers. She has received many “Entertainment” and “Choreographic” awards for her work, as well as the opportunity to perform her own work at the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City, for Dance The World Broadway. One of Averi’s most favorite moments while teaching is when the movement and passion connect, and you get to see the light behind the students eyes shine so brightly. More specifically, the fact that everyone’s light shines so differently! When Averi is not dancing, you can find her exploring the outdoors and getting her hands dirty! Hiking, biking, snowboarding, you name it! She also enjoys other forms of art like sewing, and painting!
Renee Romeo
Renee started her dance journey at the age of 3. She was trained at Loperfido Dance Academy in Woburn, MA as a competitive dancer, where she extensively studied ballet, pointe, jazz, jazz funk, musical theatre, tap, acrobatics, contemporary, lyrical, and hip-hop. Renee competed at various regional and national dance competitions such as American Dance Awards, Starpower, and Nuvo, where she danced in numerous numbers, awarded top talent and choreography rankings. At age 19, she started thoroughly training at Thr3eLive Dance Complex in urban choreography as well as both the foundational and commercial aspects of hip-hop. The same year, she joined the studio’s professional dance crew Liv3lihood, obtaining various prestigious awards. Some of these include WOD LA Finals 1st Place USA , Elements XXI & XX 1st Place, and Prelude New England 3x Champs. As she progressed her dance knowledge, she gained trainings in additional styles of heels, popping, locking, breaking, litefeet, Afro Styles, Latin Styles, Krump, House, and Whacking. Intertwined in her practice, she had danced with New Kids on the Block Fenway 2021, Carnival Choreography Ball LA 2022, and Burju Shoes Fashion Show 2023. Furthermore, she has worked choreographing and dancing with various musical and visual artists on music videos in the New England area. Currently, Renee performs regularly with Liv3Lihood and Royale Dolls Entertainment while studying to receive her Bachelor’s in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from UMASS Lowell in May 2024. She teaches various styles across New England and loves to spread her experience and knowledge to dancers eager to learn!
Erin Caster
Erin Caster holds a Bachelor of Arts from Hofstra University in Dance Performance after years of performing as a competitive dancer throughout her youth. While studying she performed works by Doug Varone, Sean Curran, Earl Mosely, Maxine Steinman, Rachel List, Royce Zachary, and many others. After college, Erin moved to Orlando, Florida where she worked for the Walt Disney Company as Entertainment/Stage Manager on various stage shows, parades, and acts throughout the park. While in Florida, she also was a teaching artist and show director for Central Florida Community Arts. Throughout her career, Erin has been passionate about advocating for youth arts education after seeing firsthand how the arts can positively impact children’s lives.
YoYio Kariotis
Yiota Kariotis (aka YoYio) was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts and has been dancing since the age of five. In 2007, thousands of dancers auditioned for the television show, “So You Think You Can Dance Greece”, and Yiota was selected as one of the top 20 to compete in the live shows. Yiota achieved the overall title of Runner up, as well as the First Place title for females. After the show, she worked with Natalie Fotopoulos in developing choreography for season two of “So You Think You Can Dance Greece”. Yiota has continued her career as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer with much success. She has choreographed tours for pop artists of Europe, danced in as well as choreographed many music videos, performed in musicals, taught workshops, and has judged various dance competitions. She is also a member of the Static Noyze Dance Company which placed first in the World of Dance New Jersey competition in 2014.
Jason Berube
Jason Berube is a creative from Massachusetts. In his early years of dance, he trained in the fundamental styles of popping, waving, and locking. At 15, he started choreographing for competitions and showcases out of Spotlight Dance Studio in Taunton, MA. Through his progressions as a student and upcoming choreographer, he was able to travel throughout New England setting competition pieces and teaching intensives.
Maria DeSario
Maria has been dancing for 18 years and is a senior in college, receiving her BFA in dance at Hofstra University. She is currently a part of Nitrogen the Company, a dance company based out of Long Island New York. You can also find her dancing with We The Females, an all females hiphop company based out of Boston.
