Elizabeth Avakian

Teacher

Elizabeth Avakian was born and raised in the Boston, MA area where she began dancing at the age of five years old. She trained and danced competitively at a local dance studio in Norwood, MA. Since then she has graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a concentration in jazz under the direction of Garfield Lemonius. Elizabeth has had the privilege of working with Mark Burrell, Kiesha Lalama, Yoshiaki Nakano, Michelle Van Doeren, Chantel Aguirre, and Michael Keefe. During and after her time at Point Park she furthered her training at summer intensives including River North Summer Dance Chicago and Houston METdance Professional Intensive. She also danced with The Massachuestts Pirates Cheerleaders in Worcester, MA. Currently, Elizabeth is a part of Urabnity’s Underground company based in the Boston area. She is very excited to share her knowledge and love for dance at House of Dance!
